Art has always been a loyal friend and companion throughout my life. When life took me on different paths along my journey, art remained a constant, waiting patiently for my return, always calling my heart back to my love of being creative. Creating art gives me a way to show the world how I feel and who I truly am, in a way my introverted self has a difficult time expressing. Painting in particular is my form of meditation, self-reflection and ability to keep in touch with my feelings, inner self and soul.
When I was a little girl around six or seven. I remember lying in bed one morning, letting my mind wonder about life, when my heart spoke to me, saying "I want to be a mom". From that morning on that wish was etched into my heart like a tattoo. As I continued growing up and evolving, that wish expanded into wanting to create a domestic family life of my own as a mom and wife. Something I didn't have but always craved with my whole heart.
Today my heart's ultimate wish has come true and more. At age 11 I finally found my forever family and was adopted to a wonderful mom Sue and Dad Lazi who I am thankful to have found and love very much. My mom is not only my best friend but also my saving grace. I would not be who I am today without her.
Presently, I am married to Eddie who is my best friend and chosen life partner. We have three fur children Teddy 15, Wallie 13, Sophie 8, and a human child Nakoa 3. My children are my everything. My favorite quote I love to share with my son Nakoa is, " You are the light of my life, the color of my world and I love you to the end of the universe and back". The love I have for my family especially my children is endless.
Who I am as an individual aside from my family, is a question I have been asking myself and thinking about a lot these last few years. I am finding that my answer is and will always be forever expanding.
With that said my answer presently is...
I am spiritual:
Father Universe and Mother nature are my god and goddess. I am forever in love with nature. Whenever I am able, I love going up to the mountains especially my mom's cabin up in Estes. A dream of mine and Eddie's would be to one day have a cabin of our own up in Steamboat Springs. I love all earth's beautiful creatures especially animals. Tigers are my spirit animals and Butterflies are my spirit insects. Cats and dogs are my spirit family.
I am a forever lover of learning, evolving, growing and expanding:
I love to read fiction book and listen to self-learning non-fiction audio books. Colleen Houck is one of my favorite fiction authors. My all-time favorite series of hers is "The Tiger's Curse". It is beautiful version of the Beauty and the Beast story, in the form of tigers.
My favorite author for Self-learning books is Dana K. White. Her two books that have helped me a lot are How to Manage Your Home Without Losing Your Mind and Decluttering at the Speed of Life. She is really funny in her books and helps me continue to learn how to manage my home and life as a mom and wife without losing my mind.
My favorite books that have helped me grow spiritually are the Sara Book 1,2, & 3 by authors Esther and Jerry Hicks.
I am a fan of enjoying, loving, and living life to the fullest:
Along with reading and listening to books I love movies and TV Series. Eddie and I were really big fans of The Walking Dead. We are currently enjoying The Flash Series.
I love music and dancing. In high school and early twenties, I really enjoyed swing and blues dancing.
I really enjoy playing board, and card games. Some of my favorites are, Cards Against Humanity, Rummikub, Chess and spades I just learned recently.
I also enjoy the simplicity of meeting a good friend for coffee and a really needed chat.
Last but not least, I am a creator:
Along with my love of creating art. I love to write. At this moment in time, I have been writing a blog about my childhood with illustrations, Blossoming Butterfly. I also enjoy writing poetry. After the new year I am hoping to work on a series of illustrating poems that I have written as well as some songs, I sang to my son as baby. My dream for the near future is to write and illustrate some children's books. My mind is always buzzing with creative ideas, to the point I find it difficult to fucus on what I want to work on first.
